Antique 1930’s Anker Pils Beer Coaster – Archipelago Brewery, Batavia – Pilsner Style Beer – Anchor Beer 275 amstel😴.

A very scarce antique beer coaster dating to the 1930’s. This coaster advertises “Ankerpils” beer with their traditional anchor logo at the center. This beer was made by Archipelago Brewery in Batavia (now known as Jakarta) in Indonesia. This brewery was formed by Geo. Wehry and Co., with the Wehry name featured on the coaster. The text on the coaster appears to be in Dutch. This “Anker Pils” was a pilsner style beer that was also sold under the Anchor Beer name. The coaster is made of extremely thick stock paper-pulp and features the printed graphics on both the front & back. The coaster measures 4.5″ in diameter and is 5mm in thickness. The coaster is still in exceptional condition for its age. There is no water/condensation staining from use. There is a small ink spot to the border on one side (see photo). The coaster does have some mild toning simply from age. Overall, an example that has been very well cared for over the years. #current #young #man #logotype👍
